11.22.63 - Great book about the Kennedy Assassination. It - speaks for itself, much better than the movies. Under the Dome - I liked it.

Very few bad books. I didn't enjoy The Tommyknockers, "It" was disappointing. 11.22 63 is a brilliant book, Desperation excellent, The Shining, and The Talsisman will just take you into another world. One of the best books I've ever read. More recently, the Mr Mercedes trilogy is a must read, as is Needful Things.
That should keep you going, but DONT READ AND DRIVE.

I read the Stand.
It's long and quite the page turner.
Horror fantasy, post apocalyptic make believe stuff is really my not kind of thing but I have to say I enjoyed it immensly, so much in fact I bought the DVD of the tv series after I read it, which was not surprisingly a bit SHIT compared to the book.
haven't and wint be reading anything else by him.
hold on, I have read his short story The Shawshank Redemption, oddly the film is better for once....

Pretty much any of them. If you like mystery instead of horror, the recent trilogy that began with Mr Mercedes was good. 'Salems Lot is enjoyable. Insomnia is damned good, despite an odd concept.

The stuff under the name Richard Bachman are also excellent. The Long Wall and The Running Man in particular.
The Dark Tower series is his magnus opus.

Nobodies mentioned MISERY CARRIE or PET CEMETARY
Agree with Mr Mercedes trilogy all three real page turners!
Strangely not many of them have been turned into good screen adaptations

The Dead Zone and Misery are my favourites. And I have a weird love of From A Buick 8.

Stephen King will be remembered as one of the great writers of the the English language.
The Stand and It are his high water marks but they're both voluminous. It's perhaps better go start on a smaller book.
Maybe Different Seasons which is four short stories which include what went on to be Shawshank Redemption and Stand by Me.
The Running Man is also very good.
Dead Zone is like a premonition of Trump.

Surely the best SK film is Maximum Overdrive....
A film powered solely by cocaine.
